CHEM NEP READINESS SEMINAR - 2010
MANAGEMENT OF CHANGE BEST PRACTICES SEMINAR - 2010
CHEM NEP READINESS SEMINAR - DETAILS & AGENDA
The PSM covered chemical facilities National Emphasis Program, commonly called "Chem NEP" is a hot topic these days. The Chem NEP program is still in its pilot project state however, there is plenty of documented evidence to support the case that it will go forward.
In this seminar you will learn about OSHAs current perspective on enforcement. We will take a look at what an NEP inspection is like and what kinds of citations might be issued. This will lead us into two streams of discussion:
Pursuing the first stream involves fairly standard process safety management audit preparations. These are quite well understood, and will be covered quickly with a number of useful references.
Pursuing the second stream involves improving your companys document management processes. We will cover this in considerably more detail and conclude with a detailed roadmap describing how to move forward to Chem NEP readiness.
This seminar is presented by Dr. Rainer Hoff, president of the Gateway Group. He has been active in the domain of electronic document management, for chemical plants and refineries for over two decades. Dr. Hoff has a lot to contribute toward understanding the issues in this challenging work environment.

PSM is of crucial importance to facilities with hazardous processes because its purpose is to prevent or minimize the consequences of a catastrophic release of toxic, reactive, flammable or explosive chemicals.
Plants that utilize hazardous materials and/or processes are required by law to maintain a formal process to manage change. This Management of Change, or "MOC", process is critically important in terms of:
