FACILEX® PRE-STARTUP SAFETY REVIEW

Gateway has developed a user-friendly, SharePoint solution for PSSR’s that’s capable of creating, scoping, and managing the entire process. It can be rapidly configured to follow an existing procedure and leverage SharePoint’s document management capabilities to deliver secure, enterprise-wide access to all the associated analytical data, drawings, documents and forms.

There are three kinds of PSSR available in FACILEX®.

  • Simple action item inside another business process
  • Stand-alone PSSR request
  • PSSR requests linked to another business process

The PSSR process can be decomposed into a number of states. The collection and sequence of states is termed the lifecycle. A lifecycle for a stand-alone Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) is shown below.

The diagram indicates that the lifecycle begins with the Initiation state. The PSSR is “promoted” from one state to the next.

Initiation: The PSSR is initiated by completing an electronic form, scoping, assigning and generating the PSSR Punchlist(s).

Pre-Startup Punchlist: The PSSR Punchlist action items are completed on-site by assigned persons doing the checks, measurements and verifications. Additional action items may be generated for the pre or post start-up at this time. Completed punchlists and forms are captured electronically during this phase.

Post-Startup Punchlist: The PSSR follow up items that must be completed. This may include notifications, reviews and approvals for completion.

Records Management: PSSRs are corporate records that must be kept for many years. SharePoint is an outstanding platform for this purpose.
