FACILEX® TRANSMITTALS

Gateway has developed a user-friendly, SharePoint solution for Transmittals that’s capable of creating, scoping, and managing the entire process. It can be rapidly configured to follow an existing procedure and leverage SharePoint’s document management capabilities to deliver secure, enterprise-wide access to all the associated analytical data, drawings, documents and forms.

There are three kinds of Transmittal available in FACILEX®.

  • Simple action item inside another business process
  • Stand-alone Transmittal creation
  • Transmittal linked to another business process

The Transmittal process can be decomposed into a number of states. The collection and sequence of states is termed the lifecycle. A lifecycle for a stand-alone Transmittal process is shown below.

Initiation: The Transmittal is initiated by completing an electronic form, scoping, assigning and activating the links to materials to be shared.

Active: The transmittal action items are completed. This may include notifications, reviews and approvals before completion.

Records Management: Evidence of a completed transmittal is a corporate record that must be kept for many years. SharePoint is an outstanding platform for this purpose.
