Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) are required before the start-up of new or modified facilities. In some companies PSSRs are called “Operational Readiness Reviews”; in other companies PSSRs constitute a portion of an Operational Readiness Review. PSSRs may be conducted as a stand-alone process or contained within an MOC or Capital project.
Gateway has developed a user-friendly, PSSR solution on the Microsoft 365 platform that’s capable of creating, scoping, and managing the entire process. It can be rapidly configured to follow an existing procedure and leverage SharePoint’s document management capabilities to deliver secure, enterprise-wide access to all the associated analytical data, drawings, documents and forms.
There are three kinds of PSSR available in FACILEX®.
The PSSR process can be decomposed into a number of states. The collection and sequence of states is termed the lifecycle. The PSSR is “promoted” from one state to the next.
Initiation: The PSSR is initiated by completing an electronic form, scoping, assigning and generating the PSSR Punch List(s).
Pre-Startup Punch List: The PSSR Punch List action items are completed on-site by assigned persons doing the checks, measurements and verifications. Additional action items may be generated for the pre or post start-up at this time. Completed punch lists and forms are captured electronically during this phase.
Post-Startup Punch List: The PSSR follow up items that must be completed. This may include notifications, reviews and approvals for completion.
Close-Out: PSSRs are corporate records that must be kept for many years. SharePoint is an outstanding platform for this purpose.
Gateway’s FACILEX® PSSR solution incorporates a complete package of industry best practices and is, by far, the most powerful yet easy-to-use solution on the market. It includes:
